Mary Cotton Public Library will host award-winning singer, songwriter and author Karla Bauer for a sing-along storytime at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at MCPL. The program is geared for ages 0 through 4th grade, but anyone is welcome to attend.
Bauer, a Kansas City native, will present her children’s lullaby book, “Be Still - A Mother’s Lullaby.”
The book is a Christian Indie Awards finalist for Best Children’s Picture Book.
Bauer writes music that is an expression of poetry, passion and faith. As an independent music artist, she has written and produced five studio albums and published a Christmas musical.
She is the founder of the SHINE On Music program and has educated hundreds of children from the underserved and rural communities. Her mission is to educate children on how to market their art in the industry but more importantly how to promote themselves safely in a digital world.
As a Kansas Creative Arts and Industries Commission Touring Roster Artist, she continues to perform her hope-induced music while centering her life around inspiring children to have the courage to pursue their dreams and to continue to shine.
