ABOUT READING GOALS

Read, record your books, reach a goal, claim your prize!

Everyone who reaches their first goal receives a prize from our prize box. Everyone who reaches their second goal receives a free ice cream cone. Everyone who reaches their third goal receives a free personal pan pizza. After those goals are met, keep reading and earn tickets for prize drawings at the end of Summer Reading!

Ticket prize donors include: gift cards and items from Hiawatha Creamery, Weathered Grace, The Traveling Art Teacher, Kansas Insurance, and more!

Click here to see a complete list of all the prizes!

Write them down! You'll get a themed reading log when you pick up your welcome packet at the library. These aren't required, though, so feel free to bring in any list to the library and the staff will count them up!

How to log books

Write them down! Our paper, age-group-specific reading logs are great because they help visualize progress towards each goal. Be sure to get one when you register in-person or you can always print one from here. These aren't required, though, so feel free to bring in any list to the library and the staff will count them up!

Bring that reading log or list in to the library and show a staff member you've reached your goal! They'll double check the total books and mark that level is completed on that child's registration sheet (we keep them all in a big binder). Hooray!

How to earn a prize

Bring that reading log or list into the library and show a staff member you've reached your goal! They'll double check the total books and mark that the goal is completed in our binder. Then, you'll get your prize or ticket for a drawing prize! Hooray!
