Storyteller Priscilla Howe to kickoff summer reading

Kickoff program is Wednesday, May 31

Storyteller Priscilla Howe will bring a mix of stories, songs, stretches, puppets and general silliness to the Mary Cotton Public Library Picnic in the Park at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31. Bring a lunch and sit back and enjoy as this former children’s librarian kicks off Summer Reading.

Howe has a gift for sizing up audiences and delivering a whopping good time. She has been a full-time storyteller since 1993, traveling around the country and abroad, telling stories in schools, libraries, conferences, festivals and special events. She is always searching for new stories to tell, as well as for the best restaurant pie on earth. She tells a mix of stories from books, folktales and her own stories, most with a generous dollop of humor. Howe lives in Lawrence with her cat, Pippin.
