WILD ADVENTURES AT MCPL THIS SUMMER
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Readers of all ages will explore the animal kingdom this summer as Mary Cotton Public Library presents “Tails and Tales” during our summer library programming. Activities include age-based reading challenges to earn prizes, weekly programs like Storytime and Picnic in the Park, and more. To see the full schedule of events, visit sabethalibrary.org/events.
The benefits of summer reading participation are many, including improved reading skills, comprehension, and memory. It’s a great way to neutralize summer learning loss.
New this year is the addition of multiple achievement levels and prizes in each age group. There’s three age groups (0-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th-12th grade) and three goal levels per age group to inspire even more reading. Complete Level 1 (the standard age-appropriate goal) of your age group to earn a prize! Boost your child’s interest to keep reading more books with another prize for reaching Level 2! Needing some motivation to keep reading through July? Encourage your kid to read a few more books to reach Level 3 where they’ll earn another prize and be entered to win a Kindle Fire table!
Registration for “Tails and Tales” opened this week on Monday, May 24. Free and open to kids ages 0 - 18, you can sign up any time in-person at 915 Virginia St. in Sabetha or online. For more information, call the library at 785-284-3160, stop by, or visit our website, sabethalibrary.org/summer-reading.
