Unearth creativity with 'The Lego Man of NYC'

Mary Cotton Public Library’s 2026 Summer Reading program will kick off with a special event featuring Cody Wells of C3Brix. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, May 28, at Sabetha City Hall.

In keeping with this year’s theme, “Unearth a Story,” area youth are invited to a come-and-go LEGO building event on Thursday, May 28. Wells — known as “The LEGO Man of NYC” — will lead two hours of interactive, age-appropriate building challenges designed to spark creativity and imagination.

Wells is one of the most sought-after custom LEGO artists in the country, with clients ranging from private collectors and celebrities to organizations such as Google, the New York Hall of Science, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. His work has been featured on The Steve Harvey Show, Good Day New York, and in Details Magazine, among others.

His greatest joy comes from working with children. He works with schools, libraries, museums, and private clients nationwide leading classes, giving talks, and inspiring the next generation of young minds.

The motto of his company (C3Brix) is “Rebuild Your Childhood” encouraging adults to reminisce and children to use their imagination to think outside of the (LEGO) box by building anything they can imagine and not be limited by the instruction books.
